Well we are getting our first snow of the year. Best go get some cracked corn the old doe that hang out in back will be at the door tricker treating in the morning

Last year the girls had a Halloween party and I shoveled snow out back and put down a bunch of straw by the spot on the back of the shed where we set up snacks. Big fire kept them all warm.

Winter is a coming guys.

...Winter is a coming guys.

I absolutely love winter...my favorite season. The clean, crisp air...the beauty of freshly fallen snow...the smell of wood burning when folks use their fireplaces and woodstoves...it all just seems so cozy and comforting.

I was in Germany and Austria last January and took the photos below. I'm supposed to fly back there December 28 (if the European Union is letting Americans in again) to spend two weeks...can't wait! :)

Steelslaver......No snowman yet?? Guess it would be a snowman with a pumpkin head. Ah... the strange world of weather 2020 !

We had snow a couple off weeks ago, then warmed up. Turned cold and either snow or rain over the next.......? We need moisture, and whichever form would be great!
Winter is not too bad here in the banana belt, actual nick name for my area of the Hills.
But with winter comes slick conditions, which isn't good, driving or walking!!!🙁🤞

The older I become the less I like winter. Give me the heat, I can
sweat for free. Really not a fan of either extreme, hot or cold. We
are having a nice long fall season here in NW Arkansas, leaves are
turning colors and nice cool nights and mornings, daytime temps in
the 80's. Just right!

Ya, I am all drained up here. Supposed to get down to 10 tomorrow night. Everything is out of the garden.

I went for a scout up in the hills where I am going to set up hunting camp. Spitting snow all day long. To stubborn to get out and lock in hubs. Some gumbo (bentonite) mixed in the soil around there and I slid a bit and got kitty whompas and high centered with one front wheel in a deep rut and the other off the side a touch. I was just crawling down the hill. Had to get out and lock in hubs. Still no go, but a short run of winch cable and a small pine fixed it.

No more problems with hubs in. My own fault. LOL But, I don't think my buddy better be pulling his camp trailer to where I wanted to camp. Have a good plan B and C though.

I don't worry to much. Wife knew about where I was wandering around and her and my brothers know if I don't show up to go looking for the big fire. Have some warmer fuel, a chain saw, good bag and a coffee pot. and chains for all 4 wheels.
