Snowed in for Thanksgiving.

Had snow yesterday, the "weather wizards" claim 8.5 inches but look more like 12 to me.
Daughter & family were planning to come tomorrow for the remainder of the weekend but that is in a holding pattern for now, forecast of freezing rain in the morning. Ugh!

I just love snow, especially when it is far, far away!

Have a blessed day,

Leon

It looks beautiful in a picture. Glad to hear you were prepared and at least one son and family made it in before it cut loose. It will make for some long lasting memories for everyone.
It’s now Friday and you may be getting round two by now?
May the food, wood and power holdout!

Reno town started to get a little dusting Thanksgiving morning and it kept on getting heavier until 4pp when it started to snow all night.

Yep, a white holiday for sure, for us and I got up this morning to 4" around the house and a chilly 20* something to start the day off until
we hit the high of 31* !!

Stay safe and warm, everyone.

Well, round two just started...big fluffy flakes. Fortunately, the kids left early this morning between storms. They made it out of our valley and out of the canyon and finally onto the main highway that had been cleared by the snowplows for easy and safe travel. They called us when they arrived home, just as the storm was starting to hit their place, too.

Between storms, I was able to trudge out to the woodshed and fill up the wood box by the stove. I also filled the bird feeders around the ol' homestead. All the grass seeds in the pastures and along the creek bank are under at least two feet of snow, so the local birds are hitting our feeders and the suet blocks pretty heavy.

Suzy, my border collie, is poking me with her nose, indicating that it's time to go upstairs for our obligatory afternoon nap. Probably a good idea, because I'll be needing my strength to shovel the walks when I wake up.:D

I’m glad y’all are ok and the snow looks beautiful. But I’m glad I’m not the one with it.Wife’s youngest son and family moved to fla a few years ago.We now do thanksgiving at their house.Walking the dog this morning by clubhouse sign said pool is still open.

Went up to my daughters near Red Lodge Snowed lightly all day. But it is at about 7000 ft. Saw about a hundred elk.. Looking at 'em with a spotting scope there were some nice bulls. Also saw a lone wolf checking out the cows. Scared him off for a bit hopefully. After din din we figured we had better scoot fore the snow blew in heavier. Got down to about 4000 ft and no snow. We got an inch last night at home(4200 ft) and the temps are about 15 above. More snow coming and I'm missing the gun show in Billings. Got to go to Austin Tx dang it

Still mild in Bama...... more blind fixing and bait dumping. ADNR says the herd needs thinning.....thus......first year bait hunting is permitted in Al.

Cleared the field of view....

No snow here of course but man is it cold for this time of year. I'm planning on starting up the fireplace tonite which will be the earliest I can remember. We had a dozen over for Thanksgiving and it was great. IMO: There's nothing like a Butterball turkey! Happy holidays to all of you on the forum.
Jim
