There are plenty of us on this Forum. When a K Frame Snub shows up, we buy it. The exceptions would be when the gun is beat to mess and/or way overpriced. The book is out (4th edition). Will have mine next week. It sound like we have been buying the right guns. . .M10 snub with a 20% premium and RB maybe an extra $100. These guns have been out there. Just not a ton of them. Relatively uncommon with fairly high demand. So, what have you picked up the past year or two for cheap? Pictures of your "deals" always good so we can see them. I got this one from the late 1970's at a gun show earlier this year. Definitely not perfect. Maybe 90% to 92%. Often carried. Rarely fired if ever. Paid $275.

Agreed, you got a great deal on a great S&W snub. My oldest son wanted me to be on the lookout for a birth year gun. By luck I knew a guy that also had a Model 10 and it's dated 1982 (the year my son was born). We made a deal; not as good as the OP's mind you but a decent price. I cleaned it up and gave it to my son a few weeks ago. He's very happy with it.

The first duty gun issued to me as a young detective back in 1972 was a Model 10 and I have had a love for them ever since. I have gone through a couple over the years and now am down to just one k-frame CCW. Some may say it is not a snub nose however for me it is a perfect k-frame carry gun. Yes it is a Model 65 and yes I carry magnum ammo in it and yes it has a 3" barrel but it is my favorite "snubbie". :)

Mentioned the two I picked up in another thread......

10-7 2", round butt, 99% condition/ no finish wear; no box or docs but appears unfired since factory

10-7; 2",sq butt, Nickel, 99% condition no box or docs but unfired

30-40 years in someone's sock drawer.......

Per SCS&W 4Ed. should be in the $1,100 to $1,200 range for the pair...that's crazy IMHO ...but I guess if a new 4" 64 has a MSRP of $689.

I was pleasantly surprised to read about the premiums for 2" and round butts ....always figured there was premium on nickel.....read somewhere only 10% of newer models were nickel.

I'm into the pair for a little under $800

Just remembered I bought this 66-1 a few years ago from the grandson of a retired INS agent along with an INS commem. After winning the commem. on GB, I asked if he had anything else for sale, and was told this snubby was and I asked how much, and was told he'd like $150-$200. I offered $175 and he accepted :)
This was his carry gun...

This is the 586-3 commem.(1 of 186 made) I bought at the same time...
