Of conceal carry in University and or Colleges? Many campuses across the nation have granted or are in the loby process to grant this privilege to individuals/students that do have a permit.

I am a student that lives about 7 miles from campus because the presidents of my University believes this is a bad idea. Personally I feel naked when I have to leave my shield at home while I'm at school.

How do you feel?

Absolutely, A good example of a school in need of concealed carry is Georgia Tech. Because of the schools unfortunate location in down town Atlanta crimes on campus happen everyday. The news is constantly reporting another rape or robbery on campus. If everyone carried I'm sure the crime rate would diminish pretty quickly.

I think it's a good idea and should be done as often as possible.

I say this as someone who attends a large urban university in a not-so-good part of town, and in a university climate which will never allow this unless forced by the legislature.

I think that every responsible, able-bodied, law abiding citizen in this country should CCW at all times, every day, everywhere.

Yea, I not mean trying to be a super hero but at the same time I don't thinks it's fair that I could possibly be a target in any given day when someone who is mentally ill decides to have a bad day, and I could have protected myself, but I couldn't because my firearm was at home..

My school had an accident today and a gunman/student took his own life. Thank God that was the only life he took. In his belongings in his dorm room was a rifle w/scoop and materials to make IED's and one possible bomb under construction.

I read this and thought they were tugging on their ears.

I'm sorry. I just had to. :D

Well we know the people who commit crimes don't pay any attention to the laws against carrying guns, so these laws only apply to the law abiding.

Those that are wayyy smarter than me claim that this is a bad idea (campus students carrying) but with my limited intellegence I have to ask how would anyone know since its never been tried. Ill go on record for saying these college shootings would drop off or at least be limited in their magnitude. But then again thats just my humble opion.

When I went to WVU I always carried my Walther P22. Granted it's a .22.... but it's better than nothing, and like I tell my wife when we travel "I'm not going to let a "SIGN" of all things stop me from protecting you or myself".

I'd rather pay the fine or have my weapon taken and go buy another before I let MY life be judged by someone else.

I would carry if I were you, just be wary of where metal detectors are. And if your state supports open carry.... DO IT. I wish my state did open carry. I think open carry would stop a lot of things from happening.

Yea I agree, I started to keep it in my car at school then thought what good is it there, if it is not on me. I'm mostly in and out of school or class. I don't usually "hang" or "relax" to much on campus.

I've read the policy for weapons on school property and it's embarrassing to say they don't even allow stun guns/ tasers. Only pepper spray.
