I hope I don't offend a lot of glock guys out there but I don't really care for glock, I only bought it because I thought I got a good deal. I paid 399 for a barely used Glock 22 Gen 3 rtf. I may sell it or trade it maybe for another M&P any suggestions what do you guys think?

Shoot it!:D You might find that you like having one in your group of firearms.:) Of course I don't own one!:D but someday I might and I only hear good things about them.

You aren't going to offend anyone. If you don't like it then pay the good deal forward to someone who will, and use the cash to get more of what you like. No point keeping it around if you don't want it.

good point

I have a couple of buddies who swear by them, I myself like my 645, it makes a much louder bang! For a good deal though, shoot it and see if you like it, nothing wrong with something different every now and then...

My M23 Glock was my service weapon that was retired with me in 1997. While I've not purchased another Glock I have to say they are great service guns for LE. I actually prefer to ergonomics of the Smith M&P but do not know how the M&P compares to the Glock re: long term reliability.

Many, many people swear by Glocks. I am not among them. My plastic gun phase is over. As soon as I can sell my Glock 30 and Kahr PM45, I'll be polymer free. There both reliable, quality firearms, but I just can't warm up to them.

There's nothing more beautiful (well, almost) than blue steel and walnut, and the pre-lock S&Ws are certainly in that group. There's nothing more handy than a polymer framed, high capacity semi-auto in a defense situation...You choose.

I bought my gen 3 Glock new when I was hired in 98. It has never failed me, and it has God knows how many round through it. The ergonomics suck compared to the M&P, but when I pull the trigger I know it won't let me down.

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. Glocks don't feel real great in my hand but I seem to shoot them really well. I'm amazed at how accurate the sub compact Glocks are.

Hey they're not the devil like some people try to claim. They're proven to be reliable. I personally like them, but I wouldn't go out of my way to collect more.

All,

Have owned Glocks and carried them in some form or fashion since 1989... 7 currently in the stable and carry a Glock 30 slimframe .45acp daily... it/they have never let me down yet.!!!!

Ironic, I bought a Glock21 last month and have put about 80 rounds through it, flawless performance but I cant stand the feel of the gun. Granted it's a dbl stack 45 but the M&P and Springfield ergonomics just feel much better in my average to large hands.
I am putting glock on consignment at my LGS.

Edit: I am not Glock bashing, they are great firearms. They are just not for me.

My Glocks keep my Smith & Wessons company. When I want to admire blue steel and walnut I pull out my Smiths. When I want to admire a revolutionary design I pull out the Glocks. Each has it's place in my inventory. BTW, the new book on Gaston Glock is a really good read.

When I am going to a fancy party or cook-out I carry a S&W and feel pretty.
When I am going to a place where harm might be lurking--I carry a plain jane Glock and feel very secure and comfortble.

Not a problem. PM me and I'll give you $100 for that plastic gun, as a public service.

I love my Glocks!! Have 3, all 9mm. My edc, a mid 3rd gen G19 police trade in. A 4th gen G17 which im still testing for reliability (so far so good) and a gen1 G19 with Australian proofs. I want a 45acp as well.

Using 9mm 124g Speer Gold Dot i shoot clover leafs at 15 yards.

At first i didnt care too much for the grip although i didnt hate it. But once i took it to the range i was sold. A few days of dry firing and i was used to the grip.

I never bothered to "warm up" to it. Im simple. As long as its reliable and i can shoot it accurately thats all the warming up i need. The rest is irrelevant to me.
