so I bought a Glock

I hope I don't offend a lot of glock guys out there but I don't really care for glock, I only bought it because I thought I got a good deal. I paid 399 for a barely used Glock 22 Gen 3 rtf. I may sell it or trade it maybe for another M&P any suggestions what do you guys think?

I don't have any issue whatsoever with Glocks. Mr. Glock designed a great pistol and it is, whether we like it or not, the one that everyone tries to equal or beat.

The only thing I don't like is the RTF finish, which they wisely discontinued. At that price, however, I might just consider flattening out those nasty pyramids with some kind of a run across a belt sander! Or, better yet, trade up for a real Gen 3 or Gen 4 at the next gun show.

Our state patrol had the RTF G22s for a little over a year maybe, and that finish was a disaster. Literally, the troopers were wearing holes in the inside arms of their shirts when the sleeves rubbed against that grip.

Truthfully, I could do without the finger grooves too! But, the reliability is hard to beat.

AFAIK, no hate for Glocks here. I have a 17 and a 36. Sweet shooters. I carried the 36 daily for some time before my love affair with my Shield.

Yes, I do feel more comfortable with a safety.

when I held the gun I actually liked the RTF, a day at the range might tell a different story as to whether it's a keeper.

Glock is a good gun, keep it. Glock & M&P are the best defensive pistols IMO, M&P better ergos, Glock better stock trigger, parts a little more available than with Glock (and somewhat cheaper mags), m&P USA owned and manufactured. 6 in 1, half a dozen in the other, you can't lose with either.

Iv always had a thing for glocks however never purchased one due to the fact that I'm a safety guy. I know u have to pull the trigger but not the point. I like when handeling the gun to have a safety on. But ne way I recently aquired a 23 and have a ? Is there a way to put a safety on a glock? Also has ne one heard of a gold lettered glock option? The gun has all gold lettering from glock I called them said it was factory bold gold? Thanks for ur time jay

If you tell here or on any other firearm forum that you bought a nice piece of gun you will always get congrats from other members. Nobody cares if is a Glock, Sig, Kahr, CZ, Walther, Kimber, H&K, S&W or any other brand, the end of story is that YOU BOUGHT A GUN. Other thing is to tell here that you bought a very nice pair of socks….. that for sure would be a problem.
