So......Who loves BIG BORE Snubbies?

657 .41 Magnum

Only one that might qualify as "loved":

24-3 ordered from Lew Horton's and carried just about every day for several years straight. Usually in a Rogers breakfront paddle holster (broke ~ three of 'em!). Every once in a while in a ******* shoulder rig.

But conceptually my favorite is this Webley Bulldog .45:

Tiny for its bore size!

Sorry no pics as the best I can do is a model 19 & 36 in snubbies and I don't think my 8 3/8 inch model 29's qualify. I do like that model 610 snubbie and should add one. Now a 657 would be nice for evening wear.

Big Bore Snubbies. N frames less than 4 inches ?

I remember a day when 3 inch Stainless Smiths circulated through the shows
for $500. or so.
Persons would much rather buy longer barreled guns.

Go figure.

Today, short barreled revolvers ( S.B.R.s) are all the rage.

I appear to have 3 original 625s in 45 Colt, 2 in 45 A.C.P.
3 that have been caliber converted and 1 that has been cut down.

9 in 45 Caliber in all.

Regards

Allen

That cat must follow you like a shadow. Nice collection, Allen, and everyone else as well.

Love the thread. So many nice pieces with HD pictures.

I'd love them to make a snub 500 again. I know about the ES, but that's unlikely to happen again. Something like the 460XVR PC chambered in 500 would force me to allocate funds immediately.

I've had a good many snubs in calibers starting with a four...I only have a couple now. One is a Lew Horton 624 and the other is a Rossi 720c. The Rossi is a medium frame, five shot, stainless revolver with fixed sights and DAO with bobbed hammer. It has been a very reliable revolver with a smooth and light trigger action. I am not usually enthusiastic about Taurus and Rossi guns but this particular revolver is as good as any S&W or Colt I have owned.

Wow, some of these snubs are beautiful. I feel like a red headed step child. I love the big bore snub but I carry a Charter Bulldog in 44 special and I reload for it. One day I would love to pick up a smith snub in 44 special. It makes me want one even more now. They are so beautiful!
