So......Who loves BIG BORE Snubbies?

I DO!!!

I have two.

An Astra Terminator 6-shot 44 magnum with a 2-3/4" barrel in stainless steel. Great gun, very comparable to a 629 Mountain Gun from what I understand - though I can't say from personal experience since I've never owned one of those.

The second one is an early Charter Arms Bulldog, 5 shot 44 special.

Very Nice!

I like the sight replacements.

I sold out of my big bore snubbies a few years ago but couldn't pass up this Mag-na-port custom 29-2 Combat Mini I recently got from forum member Wallace7777 who picked it up in a trade http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-re...4-valuation-29-2-a.html?highlight=mag-na-port. It got Mag-na-port's full Combat Mini conversion back in the early '90s including the polished blue finish that they don't offer any longer. The gun is in excellent shape and came with a number of original invoices, letters, and other provenance documentation from the original owner. The only issue was a missing thumb piece nut which I replaced with one from Numrich's. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet thanks to work and weather, maybe this weekend I can put a few rounds through it. I did manage to snap a few pics the other day, though...:)

That's a beautiful sixgun, love the jeweling.
In my opinion its the ultimate custom snubbie. On par with the best of old school custom jobs and head and shoulders above the rest. I really appreciate the work that Magnaport puts out. I'll be sending them another 629 this year for bit of custom work. Looking like we might get a decent Sunday for your range trip, hope you enjoy shooting your new piece.

Chris

That's an amazing piece. I'd love me one of them!

I almost could not pass a pic of these awesome snubs without punching the " Like " button. They are all fantastic, however, the blued guns are very special indeed.
Ahhhhh what dreams are made of. I want one to replace my 19 snub as my EDC.... really.
My hat is off to all the owners of these fine weapons.

The ultra fine snubbies in this thread are never seen for sale in my area. You folks that are snatching these up are lucky! Truthfully, there are not many used older Smith's of any flavor to be found around here.

This thread inspired me to buy my first Lew Horton 24-3 back in 2014 when it was first started. glad to see it revised. I've been on the hunt for a 696 lately
