Some newbie questions about revolvers

That was a great deal at $250. I agree that +P ammo will not damage the gun; large round counts will empty your wallet faster than it will loosen up your model 36. Try several different loads to see which agree both with the gun and you. Heavier loads may require different stocks.

Nice 36! You got a smokin deal also, I'm seeing them for 400+ up here in Seattle. It's a great little carry gun. I have one in the square butt version and love it!

Ok I've got a couple other questions you guys can probably help me with.

First, the cylinder has a very small amount of play in it where it can rotate slightly from side to side. It's only a small fraction of a millimeter and barely noticeable to the eye but I can feel it. Is this normal? I assume that when new, there's almost no play but over time it get's slightly looser and looser?

Second, there's a small part inside that seems to slide left and right and makes a slight rattling noise. It seems like it blocks the hammer and slides up and down as the hammer goes back and forth. Is it supposed to have any movement while the hammer is down? I outlined it in green in the pic below.

I still haven't had a chance to go shoot it yet but since I'm new to revolvers, I want to make sure nothings wrong with it.

Thanks for everyone's help and advice!
