Sonic

There is only one Sonic in our area (that I know of). It's in Springfield and from what I can tell it's about the same as all the other fast food joints in Springfield.

I went a couple do times, and both times found the food to be gross. I won't be back.

Too bad, I like the idea of the place, and the tater tots, but IMO they just don't put any quality into the food...

They built one in the next town over and it stayed empty for at least a couple years before it finally opened. I'd thought about stopping sometime but all I've heard about the place is the awful food. Too bad as it's a good idea.
I guess I'll have to be happy with the A&W that's still open in another town near me.

When I eat most any sandwich from Sonic, especially during the warm months, my hands and fingers cramp really bad. My doctor tells me its the sodium or salt content in the food plus I'm not drinking enough water. Also happens when I eat at other fast food restaurants but not as bad. I try to stay away from any of them.

Maybe it's the location?
Most all the Sonic's around here are packed around noon and the food is certainly no worse than most other fast food places.
A little while back they ran a special on some mini hot dogs, and the "Baja" ones with the chili, cheese, and jalapenos were actually good.

Their food is pretty salty and this coming from someone that puts salt on most everything. Anytime I eat at one it seems I drink two gallons of water or iced tea after. Makes for an interesting night's sleep.

Idont go there because their food sucks

I agree, food's blah. That said, the fountain drinks, especially those with ice cream are excellent. I stay away because if I get any bigger, I'll have to move out to the garage. It's the only door I'd be able to fit thru.

Try to stay away from fast food so I don't do Sonic ,and I don't like their commercials either! ;)

There are three Sonics in my town and always full. The owner is a gun nut. All Sonics I have seen you don't go inside to eat. One has been in business since the 60s. I have never talked to anyone that complained about food or service. Maybe the location has a lot to do the food. Are those two Idiots in the commercial married to each other?:) This is what he drives on the weekend and he doesn't do commercials.

yeah location has a lot to do with it, they are HQ'd out of Oklahoma and in the south I am sure they are more successful. My favorite burger from them is the single with cheese, Hickory sauce, onions, pickles, and jalapenos. They have good drinks too. Ocean water for a buck is a good deal on happy hour.

For those lucky enough to have a DQ or Tastee Freeze there is competition to Sonic, and have great food as well.

I personally like the commercials. I hate the Carl's Jr commercials with the sloppy eating suggestive bimbos.

No...I'm not gay!

I never even saw one of these places until we went to AZ. last week. By that time we were too burnt out eating that type of stuff on the road to try it. I bought two of those $1 little MacDonalds scab patties and they were horrible. I feel tainted forever now. Those guys are sometimes a little funny. But in the 70s I wouldn't buy Charmin because of that creep in the commercials who was always "squeezing the Charmin".

I'm not a burger guy but my wife knows where the good joints are. She rates Sonic pretty high, I think they suck. She did get me into a place in NM that was good though. I think it was called Blake's Lot a Burger. She got that one right.

We had a Sonic here for about a year and it folded up. Somebody said they opened another on the other side of town but I was never interested/liked them enough to go there.

We also have a Freddy's and their so-called steak burgers are great. They also serve the skinny french fries. I haven't made up my mind if I like Freddy's better than 5 Guys or not. Definitely NOT a fan of In-n-Out Burgers. Appleby's or Red Robin are both good for what I consider REAL burgers.

The Sonic here is always packed. Service is good, the orders usually come up in just a couple of minutes, and I enjoy the food.
