Speaking of Pontiac

Holden makes an El Camino type car-truck called a Ute that if they sold here I think would do very well if they kept the price reasonable.

Holden are a division of GM.
The Pontiac G8 is based on our Holden Commodore.
Actually I think it might be based on the Monaro which is based on the Commodore ;-)

Holden make (or import) all kings of things.
There is a Commodore ute plus other bigger things (Colorado - used to be Rodeo but someone else owned the rights).

As for prices, I seem to remember that the price of the G8 in the USA was much less than a similarly equipped vehicle in Aus.

Sicker prices here for the G8's range from about $27,000.00 for the V6 to $33,000.00 for the G with the 6.0 V8 and $42,000.00 for the full boogie GXP with the 422 horse 6.2 V8. I have no idea what the exchange rate is to Australian Dollars. With the rebate and discounts actuall prices are a lot lower, I was offered a 6 speed manual GXP for $34,000.00.

US$ $42,000.00 = AU$ $57.720.60. A 37.43% advantage $:$

More than I want to spend in either country.

Unless it comes with gun turrets and a 50 cal quad with drum feeds!!!

Was really looking forward to seeing the Pontiac G8 ST (Sport Truck) later this year. It is (or would have been) the Holden ute mentioned above, with a Pontiac badge and the same LS-series V8 that's optional in the G8 sedans. Pretty much no chance of it happening now unless they re-badge it as a Chevy El Camino. I can hope...

I've decided that the first two things I'll no longer need any knowledge of in the 21st century, are S/D 421/455 Pontiac H.P. level II, III, and Ram Air IV info. As well as absolutely ALL of 4+ decades of Mopar background.
I've further decided what I need to now know, is how to change NiCad batteries...
I LOVE the 21st century so far!
