I have seen very few model 686–1 round butts with a 6 inch barrel, So when it became available, I didn't hesitate and the price compared to today's standard was more than reasonable.
I acquired it 6 or 7 years ago, and the gentleman already had a letter from Roy Jinks. It is a bright finish, round butt with beautiful combat grips.
If any of you have any insight, I would appreciate it. It is one of the more unique L frames that I have in my collection.
Tom

That's a unique one. Without the letter calling it a 2.5" with a replaced barrel would be easy.

Guessing you didn't need to use the .375 H & H round as a prop rod. ;)

Well being a true Dirty Harry fan it's not at 375 H&H,
It belongs to my Model 70 Winchester, it's a 458 Winchester magnum!
I just haven't manned up enough to take it out and shoot 510 grains of lead on a steel target yet😳
But it's gonna happen………..

only insight from me is that's a really nice looking revolver and those grips make it look even better.

did i ever mention i like nice grips.

krs/kenny :)

I'm out on an emergency call tonight! Been out here, dragging a power line crews around with dozers since 9 o'clock this morning we had 65 mile an hour straight line wind, and tore powerlines down. or I would post pictures of a brand new set….that are to die for and still in the original packaging from around the mid 90s, maybe earlier that I found when I was wondering through an old time gun shop in the middle of nowhere Missouri.
I will try to post sometime tomorrow when I get my lazy butt out of bed!

Here's the grips I responded about last night,
I have multiple homes for these grips, but I can't bring myself to open the package….. would you?

It is ironic seeing this gun with the bright finish. There was another thread asking about a bright SS 686 and I responded that I had never heard of nor seen one. I stand corrected. That is a unique piece both on the RB and the finish.

Really cool to see.
