Sphinx pistols??

They are a Swiss built CZ variant. they were distributed by Sabre Defence. I tried to purchase one a year ago, but was told that they now longer dealing in them. I got an email from Sphinx saying they were looking for a new distributor. They are very well built, but bulky and short barreled. They are kind of like buying a high end 1911, you would do it because you want one. You could buy a CZ pistol from the CZ custom shop at CZ-USA, and add some extras. But you could not get a titanium frame, or the distinct looks of the Sphinx. There is some internet info, and Combat Handguns tested one about a year and a half ago.

What sar4937 said. I was lucky to find the AT380 one day while "browsing" the gun shop. It is DA only and a really, really well designed, built pistol. Their large 45's are very pricey. Excellent company to communicate with. I had some weak magazines springs and they sent me 2 from Switzerland no charge!.

These are built like a alloy Swiss watch.:)

Sphinx handguns are made with very high quality Swiss materials. The machining and fitting are a good notch above CZ (as they should be). On my P2000 the DA/SA trigger is nice and the slide operates so smoothly. Even the little AT380 has a smooth, if rather long, DA trigger.

AT2000 Police Special 3.66" barrell, 15 round.

i did notice on GB that they are a little on the pricy side,
i may consider one if they find a US distributor.
thanx for the info, that's exactly what i was looking for.

I recall them when I was a kid in the 80's,and they were $$$$$$!!!! back then.

So they're still around? I have to go check this out :D

The Sphinx is a nice pistol but I have some critic.
I have see one with an ripped frame. The rail was ripped due the material is to hard. Go for a good CZ 85.

i like the sphinx because they are somewhat rare, plus i wanted to add to my .380 collection.

i'm still in the fact finding stage, i haven't pulled the trigger just yet.
