Spring kit for a newbie

My new 27 was quite tight in all aspects when new. 200-300 magnums has loosened everything up and trigger is for sure getting better. I’d just dry fire the heck out of it and shoot 500 or more through it before any mods I think you’d be happy. When one is brand new your mind thinks “this trigger is too heavy I’ve got to do something”. Just wait

I may show my ignorance here, but would leaving the gun cocked for a month or so loosen it up some?
No, and a great revolver trigger is typically less about the main spring and more about the smoothness of the engagement surfaces between the hammer and sear.

Last week I bought a used M69 with a spring kit already installed. It took a bit for me to realize that fact, that is until I put the Lyman Trigger pull gauge to it. Sub 3 pound SA. Around 8 pounds DA.

Whoever put the spring kit in did a masterful job. The screws are still perfect. No raised edge on the side plate. I have a very discerning eye, and I didn’t catch it right away.

I will say this: When done correctly, a spring kit is a wonderful addition to a recreational firearm. I would never carry this thing for duty or self defense. If you ever had to fire it, the opposing lawyer would annihilate you.

Note on the new to me, newish M69: Well executed, very accurate revolver. Good value at the used price I paid.
