Should be the same part number as the guide rod for a 4506 (or any of the other 5" slide assembly variants). Check Brownells factory parts or contact S&W parts department.

Thanks for all your help

Hopefully someone will answer this question, Guide rod for my 1006 up next to head of guide rod there is about a 2mm long crack i had to look cloce even to see it. Will this be ok and how much force or pressure is on guide rod Thanks for your help.

Well if you would have visited the Numrich site the list parts in a exploded view.

I have never seen any of mine crack...However contact S&W to see if they will send you a new part and make it right!

The small plastic wrapper that the Rod was in also reads 103200000 they also sent a return slip Guide rod for model 1006 measures four and half inches i have checked all known gun parts houses ther is not one to be found. The shorter one is for the 1076,1066 & 1086 probably placed in the bag by mistake...the numbers for those are
scematic part #60 - Factory Part #902970000 $20.40 X RECOIL SPRING GUIDE ASSY

There are mostly aluminum and there are some stainless steel recoil rods, I have guns with a stainless steel long for my 1006 and short for 1076.
