State Trooper S&W revolvers from around the country.

I'll add my duty issued Ohio State Highway Patrol marked
M681-1(M), since I don't see any already listed. Not sure the dates when these were phased into service replacing our old worn out M10HBs. I purchased my issued M681 in 1992 when they were being replaced by the Beretta 96D's. I removed my personal Hogue grips for the photo since they partially covered the department emblem. I installed the Hogues after I took delivery of my surplused M681.
I have no recollection of ever seeing the M681's factory wooden stocks. When issued the M681s, the Troopers had the choice of 2 different Pachmayr grips only. I was involved in confirming the serial numbers of the new revolvers and installing the chosen grips at district headquarters before they were issued to each Trooper. I have no memory of taking off the wooden stocks to make the switch. The factory stocks may have been removed at the Academy after each weapon was test fired and the casings and projectiles were collected for our ballistics records.
Note: I did not purchase my old original issued M10HB due to the unreasonably high asking price considering it was badly out of time and the barrel was bulged (while I was in the Academy, long story).
