Stiffed on an Unsafe S&W,What to Do

Thanks again, guys, for all the great help & advice. Yes,it is only a small tiny slice of life, don't get too upset and it will be a good learning experience for all from the standpoint "what to do when you have a gun that does this." Will post all trials & tribs. Tom

Pay your tuition and try not to get bitten twice. As others have said, any course of action other than eat the deal will cost more in the long run. You can always frame the gun, hang it on the wall and be reminded.

You should list the name of the dealer on GB so we can all stay away from this guy.

S&W says it's OK to shoot, so proving the gun has safety issues is problematic for you. Selling the gun to someone else could put you in the same position with your customer as you are in with the person you bought the 547 from. If you don't fix it, it's worth nothing. If you do fix it, you've got a real nice 9 mm revolver, much sought after.

Contact S&W in writing by Email [email protected] and describe what you think the problem is and ask what you have to do to get it serviced. Then do it. My two cents.

Since you called S&W and they said it was ok to shoot,I would call them back and tell them what happened. Maybe they will fix it for you.
