other than the threaded barrel, is there anything else new on it? or other accessories?

I believe the barrel can be swapped, but it might be cheaper by having to old barrel threaded.

Can someone help me on some things?
The new M&P15-22 is a dedicated M&P15-format rifle designed and built as a true .22 LR semi-auto from the ground up, with all the standard operating features and accessory specifications of a modern-version centerfire M&P15 rifle.
-Does it mean its a totally new rifle, not a new version of the know 15-22?
ahhh its a new gun they arnt offering a seperate clamp on its a whole new barrel

Looks like S&W's website is back up now. I noticed their site now lists four types of 15-22's ! They sure know how to confuse someone! I have a hunch that the actual 10 round magazines are no more! The complient models say 10 rounds but the pictures all show the curved 25 round ones. My guess is they pinned the 25 round to limit only 10 rounds. I was hoping they would come out with the shorter mags.

I am afraid that it won't be legal (compliant) in Massachusetts (where they are made)
This state is so messed up. I think the law is you can have either a pistol grip or a suppressor or a bayonet lug but not 2 of them or 3 of them, I have to check.
I would love one with a suppressor and a pistol grip! Of course we can only have 10 round magazines due to the assault weapon ban still on in Mass (at least as far as mags go)
