Stock trigger on 15-22

First off, I want to say hello to the folks in the forum. I am new to this forum, but so far everyone seems really nice.

Now my question. Does anyone know what pound the stock trigger pull is with the factory springs? I just had a JP Enterprise spring kit install but haven't taken it for a range test yet. Possibly friday night. If anyone would like a report back after I fire it with the kit in it, i'll post it up.

OK.... looks like I found the answer to my own question. 7 pounds seems to be the approx trigger pull.
 
So can you tell a difference in pull with the JP springs?

I took just a couple of dry fires at the gun shop (i know... bad idea) and it did feel to have a much smoother break to it. Lighter yes, but also it didn't have that slight notch feel just before the break.

I think i'm going to the range friday after work. I'll post a report after I go.
 
that will get better the more u shoot it... there will be slight machining marks where the sear and trigger enguage one another these can either be honed out or just "worked out".... basicly they will wear together and get more crisp as you say... keep in mind unless you had a single stage trigger installed it will still creep back to the second stage then it will trip the sear..the notch your feeling is the the point in which the sear is enguaged the reason you can feel it now is the spring pressure was hiding it before... hope i said that where it made since

yeah that makes sense, thanks. Honestly I was just looking to lighten up the overall pull on the trigger. But hey, for $16 installed, i'm sure i'll be happy with the results.
 
great deal on that .... they make honing stones to slightly change the angle on the sear and trigger to get the result your looking for cheap... but shoot the piss out of it and it will get better

lol... will do. I'll post again after I go to the range and try it out.
 
Range report on JP spring kit..... I LOVE IT!! Lighter pull, and no more of that annoying little notch feel just before the break on the stock springs. I would highly recommend having one installed if at all possible. I had it installed at my local gun shop for $16. Let me know if you have anymore questions anyone.

did the gunshop measure your pull weight after installing compared to the stock pull?
 
I picked mine up yesterday. I dry fired it about 100 times and measured the trigger pull. It averaged a crunchy 8 1/4 pounds. Put moly-slide lube on sear and the trigger pull dropped to a consistent 7 1/2 pounds. JP springs (yellow) then dropped the trigger to 4 1/2 pounds and it feels MUCH smoother.
There is still way too much pre-travel and overtravel for my liking but I'll fix that after I decide the rifle is reliable and accurate enough to warrant the extra work.
I expect it might drop a little more after I push the first brick of ammo thru it. Should know by Monday!

The stock trigger is a single-stage trigger. The sear (front of the one-piece trigger) is engaged into the hammer notch, fully, every time the hammer is cocked. Any "second stage" you are feeling is a manifestation of the sloppy machining the parts received.

I guess pre-travel is all personal preference cause I don't find it back at all. But I absolutely agree that the pull is 100% smoother, and a much crisper break.

Sorry I assumed it was a 2 stage just from the amount of pretravel.. I was still correct when I said he would of need a good single stage installed to get the feel he was looking for (no creep)... or he could get really creative with the stock 1... but no spring kit will get him the result he wants
 
Trigger Job

Drop in a Rock River two stage Match Trigger group to make your rifle have a very clean & lightened trigger at about 4 lbs. No need for lightened springs and such.
 
I've got a fix for the pre travel problem... for a penny ill tell u:p
