Got a guy to "shave" the areas of my 3913 for me. He seems competent and I expect I will be pleased.

Now to the issue of night sights.

I love the look of Novak's and plan to buy a set of their three dot night sights and just let them install them for the $35 they charge.

I can get meprolights or trijicons much cheaper and put them in myself, but the Novak's look great.

Even thinking about their wider rear notch.

Haven't used Novak's in at least 15 years, but was always pleased.

Any reason NOT to go with their sights or use them to install?

It's only some $..
I like Novak sights and have them on several guns.

Novaks look right on SW third gen.

Mepros and Trijicon look funny on SW and are usually taller. they work, just dont flow with the guns lines.

S/S1,
It depends on what you see the primary application for the gun being?
A wider rear notch no matter who's, is a far "faster" set of sights to use for S/D. And since your putting night sights on it, I have to assume it's going to be primarily a S/D piece? If you want to see why it's faster, take the gun with the current rear sight at full arm length and slowly draw it closer to your dominant eye while focusing on the front sight. This duplicates widening of the rear notch.

I do plan to use this one as one of two primary carry guns. Still times I can't beat my 638.

I think I will go with the wider notch.

Thanks,

Bob
