surprise at the Range

When i was doing my (Swedish) Army time, i had one of these.
Hated it, heavy.. bulky...
Was the fastest in my group to strip down and reassemble it though.
even in the dark

LOL as a frugal man of Scottish heritage ......

I never got an AR until I was about 45....... when I learned .223/5.65 ammo was $180/1000 vs $18-22 for 20 rounds of other centerfire rifle ammo.

Maybe I can be an honorary member of your clan? I chose a pistol caliber rifle (.38/.357 lever) instead of a rifle caliber. And I was already bulk buying that ammo for the revolvers. :)

Can I get my Tartan? ;)

Very cool. I see you are from Sweden. I am an American, but love Swedish meatballs and Kalles kaviar spread on crispbread with sliced boiled egg. Delicious! I tried these things from Ikea, of which I have a great fondness too.

.... they are a novelty. I didn't realize how much ammo I'd shoot just going to semi auto. A 'burst' of full auto would have me at the reloading bench for a long time.

No problem, just upgrade to the Dillon 1050 with the case trimmer and case feeder options. :D

I used to shoot those at Cedar Point trying to shoot out the red star,I thought I did once but the guy pulled out a magnifying glass and found just one red thread so I lost.I spent the rest of the day telling people about it so they didnt get ripped off like I did.

A range in Lawrenceville, GA had a MP10 at one time, I loved that weapon.

My friends dad has a Thompson and a UZI he bought back in the 1960s. The Thompson with the 50 round drum was very accurate and controllable at the 50 ft indoor pistol range, with hardly no muzzle rise. It's no wonder so many bad guys got away back in the gangster era, the cops with .38s didn't have a chance. The UZI was a bit of a surprise it had a very light trigger pull and was also very easy to fire small, accurate bursts and I liked it more than I thought I would.

brings back "fond!" memories of the UK Army. A Bren Mk II and a Sten. Court martial offence to jump down from a lorry with a cocked Sten. Dave_n
