Yesterday the owners of the company I work for the last 32 years. Called me into the office they know my wife is ill and all days I miss will be paid no more FMLA days. These will all be paid vacation days. The work schedule is up to me I can work when I want. Today another call to the office. Mary & myself are to take a vacation together everything paid for meals, rooms, airfare, tips, told not worry about what I spend. I will not take advantage of my employer but will be fair. They are a family owned shop these boys value their workers. They where raised right.

If all companies were like this, unions wouldn't exist. Two thumbs up for them!

Truly hoping the vacation will speed Mary toward recovery.
I was fortunate to work for a similar family owned company. He demanded production yet understood that employees treated more than fair would go above and beyond the requirements of the job and it paid off in spades. More than a few of us would have gladly killed for the man.

Come to think of it, if we shut off the TV and look around, that isn't really that uncommon.

In my experience, the vast majority of companies, both large and
small go out of their way the help GOOD employees. People who
show up for work and have a good attitude.
