I have searched for a Model 10 round butt snubby for a while, and those that I could find were either beat up or very over priced. Well last week I found a 10-5 2" round butt on my local forum. The price was a bit high; after my offer he came down a smidge, but not as much as I liked. The price was $50 over what I wanted to pay. But then I thought "Come on, it's 50 bucks for the rest of your life. And next week, when it's gone, you'll be kicking yourself."

So I did the deed. Pictures are below. The serial number is D4xx, which means it is very likely an early 1968 gun. It's in quite fine condition, only a couple of very small blemishes, and appears to have been shot very little. There is only a hint of a turn line.

In case you are curious, I paid $550 in a private sale, no box or docs. Probably top dollar, but not outrageous, and I'm happy that it's in my safe.

I think you did O.K. on the price. There is a NIB 10-5 snubbie at a LGS for $799.99 and a refinished 10-7 snubbie with no box or papers for $400.00 at another LGS.

Sir, you made a wise decision. As you said the $50.00 would soon be gone without any reason to remember where it went.

Remember you did not pay to much, you just bought ahead of the curve.

I picked up my 10-5 snub R.B. a couple of years ago for $400. A few blemishes, holster wear and rubber grips, but all in all, good little revolver. I've grown to really like and have started carry it too. You did well and you will like it.

Found the same thing 2 months ago but unfired for $350 at the OGCA meet. I never fail to find a good buy there.

A gun is worth what you are willing to pay for it, and I would have paid that much all day long for this piece. You did very well! It's beautiful, and definitely pretty enough to be a barbecue gun.
