Hello Everyone.

Attached are a couple of pics of my latest SW 1911. It is an older gen SW1911SC. It has an Airborne logo on the RH side. Anybody know when these were made and what the SKU number is? Did S&W doe these or was this done by someone like Lew Horton or Talo?

Thanks!

COOL to have the Airborne logo!
My 1911Sc is even older, I think. It dates from 2003 (JRE serial number), and is the very one that Gun Tests Magazine used for their test. It is an excellent shooter and its light weight makes it easy to carry, though I have no problem with steel 1911s.

OP, owning a few myself, these are (usually) referred to as "deployment pistols". Many units (that one being 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team) will order these in mass, as many as the units Soldiers request for themselves and pay for.

Sometimes these are specially purchased through the Gun Manufacturer themselves, sometimes they are laser engraved by a 3rd party. No honest way to tell which for sure. Usually they allow certain area's/space's for additional info (name, dates, etc). But this one doesnt appear to have any.

What you should enjoy most is a pistol that meant a significant amount to an individual who went through what they did. I purchased both a Sig P250 9mm and a Para 1911 from my previous deployments. Hate both guns haha, but wont get rid of them. Though some do.

I do highly doubt this was mass-produced by S&W, but, I reserve the right to be entirely wrong!

Does any one have any information on this commander 1911 stainless roll marked slide? S&W won't answer how many were made. Have searched on google and all I can find is possibly 200 were produced. These were Camfour Exclusive 2 tone 1911s. sku#150109

Thanks for the insight. I am hoping S&W will answer my question I emailed them last week, but I guess I will have to resort to the "please stay on the line and your call will be answered in the order it was received" thing :)

I do know the person who bought it probably did not shoot it. That thing is so tightly finished, it makes my Les Baer look sloppy loose.

I have also been trying to do some research on some other S&Ws (mainly Talos) and the info on the S&W website is exactly squat. I would post your post in a new thread. The one guy who knows that off the top of his head might miss it buried here.
