Swapping the slide on a Model 52 to shoot 9mm?

OK guys, got a question. A buddy of mine told me that he thought you could swap out a model 39 slide and barrel will swap out and I would be able to shoot 9mm on my 52 frame...anybody know if this is true? If so what would I do about mags??

I would imagine you would use the 39 mags. If you post something like this on the semi- auto page, they are more people that could answer this question. They just don't always read this section.

I have done exactly what you are thinking about, its works fine with the exception of the slide lock not working with the 39 mags, wont hold open at the last shot. I also switched the ejector to get the 9mm to exit a bit more reliably. A set of Millet sights to replace the beat up 59s ( I made a front with a fiber optic tube so I can see) and its a competitively accurate piece. I may have a top end extra if your serious..

Over the weekend I tried my 952-2 magazines in my 52-2 and they will work.
