I recently picked up a really beat-up Victory revolver. I was wondering if a guy can change the barrel to a 4 inch .38 spl. barrel and the cylinder and yoke. I have a spare barrel and a .38 spl. cylinder, star, and yoke. The frame has many knicks in it and I will have to file them out, hence my earlier post about cerakote, instead of reblueing, which no one around here does that anymore.

Absolutely, a simple caliber conversion.

It's easier if you use the existing yoke. Minor cyl fitting to the recoil shield and the barrel to cyl gap may be needed.

If you know what you're doing ... for someone like myself , I would end up with a revolver that didn't function or spit lead or had the barrel on crooked ... ask me how I know .

You just got to know your limits .
