Sylvester Stallone

Everyone's gotta be someone. Guess he's still just a short guy with his money.......

I don't have any respect for him. Once he announces he is no longer portraying characters who use guns in his movies I will maybe have a bit of respect.

This is the part that i just dont care about. What actors think about guns. Nor do i dislike them for it. They play a character, often a fictional one. This doesnt mean they have to like or dislike guns in real life. If i follow that logic then Anthony Hopkins should be a cannibal or at least pro cannibalism in real life. Anyone who plays a Nazi should be a Nazi or pro fascism, anti Jew.

Here's the part that gets me: The folks in charge are totally convinced that a cartoon camel makes kids smoke, but immersion in the violence of video games, movies, thug music, and violent movies has no effect???

Stallone is an idiot, and I'd say it to his face. Y'all did know he started out in porn, right?

The only good actor named Sylvester was a cat.

A couple of his movies would have been pretty good if they had used a real actor instead of Stallone.

Just my two cents.

I respectfully disagree. Actors have free access to promote their views and these so called celebrities are looked up to by adoring fans. So it does make a difference on what they say publicly. They have a lot of influence on what the uniformed non thinking sheep feel about important subjects. To just dismiss them as if it means nothing is dangerous. I think they should be challenged and exposed.

ISTR that he had a gun collection that included machine guns - quite a few years ago. Can anyone confirm this?
I read that too ...and he got even his own shooting stand in his home in FL...but it was yearssss ago (mid 80'). He said in a french interview "...that his new wife (the last one :)) changed his life and its way of thinking .." Well, maybe......;)

Camels not cool enough (lucky strike)

A Camel - not my cartoon man. Not cool and tough at the same time.
Cool and tough was Humphrey Bogart. That's why I started smoking at age 15.

Who does not remember African Queen where him and women's lib (what's her face) steam down the river and blow up a german patrol boat. I mean what is not to love about a drunk cigarette smoker, and a women's libber, determined to blow up a Nazi Patrol boat somewhere in Africa?

(I did not know African Queen was a WWI flick?)
The African Queen (1951) - IMDb
Storyline
September 1914, news reaches the colony German Eastern Africa that its motherland is at war,

(Maybe I started smoking because of Casablanca - where he packed a 45 auto, wore a suit, and had Ingrid for his woman. When push came to shove he was always a real American).

Nothing new there . . . he's been an open anti gun liberal for years.

My question is, who cares what the Hollywood types think or say. They are actors.

The problem is that all the brain dead idiots in this Country think that most "actors" are God when they speak, and therefore what they say must be good for everyone.

What we have here

Aw c'mon. Anyone that puts up money for a movie, or any good director, recognizes someone who can walk the walk and talk the talk - before all the special effects explosions took over the movies.

Early in his first "Rocky" movie he takes off his jacket, slings it onto his shoulder, and stands on a scale to weigh himself. He then steps off the scale and puts the jacket back on.

As they say "you can't make this stuff up".

$$$$$$$$$$$

(We are not talking "real class" like Paul Newman's chain gang movie - what we have here is a failure to communicate - "Cool Hand Luke").

Actors are, by their very nature, attention hounds. Sly's probably tickled as he can be that we're even talking about him. All he's ever shown me was that he was a lousy actor, and not much of a man. The "Italian Stallion" might have been the only role he was ever suited for.

His latest movie premier made four million dollars on its opening weekend.

Looks like most people are not paying attention to what Mr. Stallone is saying these days.
