Taurus Model 65 4"

Hi Guys!
A friend of mine is looking at getting his dad a Taurus mod 65 4" for Christmas. He asked me to inspect the gun before he bought it and get a fair assesment on its price. I looks to me to be in exellent condition and has a smoother action than most Tauri that I've handeled, I'm a Smith guy and would never buy one myself but, would not feel unarmed with it. The price that was qoted is $350 OTD, I told him to offer $300 cash and see if the store owner bites.
What says you?

Not to start a war here, but I wouldn't give more than $200.00 OTD for it. Irrespective of its condition, it won't have a lot of resale value.

I paid 125.00 for my mint 605 Taurus snubby 357 ss. And have no illusions about ever recouping my money, it'll always just be a dresser drawer backup.

Taurus Prices

Occasionally see Taurus like you describe sell in the local area for the $300 price.

Most of the sales are in the $250 - $275 price range.

$300 OTD would not be unreasonable.

My advice and opinion is FREE and possibly overpriced.

first pistol I bought was a new in the box taurus 689. loved it then, love it now. and i havent been easy on it. its a good gun and i'd buy another if i had the bucks.

Honestly, for $350, you could get a pretty nice used S&W if you shop around a bit. That would be my recommendation.
