Texas Monthly

I'm sure somewhere in this article they will show their true feelings about guns and the people that own them.

Texas Monthly is nothing but a left wing rag. I'll spend my money elsewere.

I saw the cover at the grocery store. I think it refers to Nugent as a nut case?

TX Monthly is definitely pretty liberal.

Correction: left wing Austin rag. Austin & Travis county are actually in Kalifornia.

Now that is funny! Hopefully the article will inform the more liberal readers the importance of Second Amendment rights.

I've said it before, but will say it again, as I think it bears repeating: Ted Nugent is an excellent guitarist, a superb showman, evidently a wise businessman, but, a poor spokesperson for the NRA and 2A supporters. I know he has an army of fans, sycophants, and cheerleaders, but his supercilious, condescending attitude toward interviewers and anyone with whom he disagrees is offputting and insulting, and his foul mouth, homophobic slurs, and other childish rhetoric don't win us any friends, or favorably influence anyone outside our "amen corners".

There are plenty of less notorious but more measured spokesmen for "our" issues, David Koppel, Alan Korwin, John Lott, for examples, come to mind. Admittedly, none of these guys have Nugent's media cachet, but they also are able to make cogent arguments, supported by facts and data, rather than Nugent's outlandish outbursts on dealing with criminals, etc.

Picking fights with people whose minds are already made up is futile. Presenting a reasoned argument to fence-sitters may whittle away at our opponents and advance our cause, and can't hurt it. Ted ought to muzzle himself, and leave the political PR to the pros.

I suspect that this is why they interview Nugent when they want to present a "pro-gun spokesman". He fits the stereotype they want. The guy is right about many issues, but is also a loose cannon on deck.

I have always watched and liked Ted Nugent but almost everyone I talk to(gun people) think he is nuts!I greatly appreciate his outspoken views on 2nd amendment rights, dealing with criminals, etc.I feel the same way.I just wish other people on both sides would take him more seriously...Mike

Say what you want,He sure changed Anthony Bordains attitude when he handed him some autos. I don't know if any of it stuck with him,but I hope so.
