I just want to publicly thank all of you working folks for the $250 I am getting as part of the stimulus.

I also have several friends who just got their $250 through Social Security and I felt left out (I don't turn 62 for a few months, yet).

Then, yesterday, I got this nice letter from my friends at the VA who started it with "Good news! The economic recovery legislation, signed by President Obama...provides for a one-time payment of $250 to eligible VA beneficiaries." Uhhh, that'd be me. And, I think, anyone who gets a VA disability check each month.

Since this is a stimulus payment, and since I know my fellow working working Americans chipped in to pay it (did I say thank you?), I want you to know I will spend it in the spirit of its intent.

I have already made inquiries on an ad on our very own Classifieds.

Life is good!

Can I have my share back? I've got my eye on this nice paper clip. ANIB!

I got mine, and I would give $25,000 back if possible to get back the $250,000 or more its already cost me in my 401K etc!

My wife and I deposited our two checks in our credit union savings account, just like the last refund from the crooks.

$250???? Man, you can buy about three or four boxes of ammo with that!

Man, I wonder if the VA will send me a letter too? I promise to spend it all stimulating the local economy?

Can you have them direct deposited in an online poker account? I could use some stimuli in that sector.

I got my check this week, but also got a letter from Social Security that because of the "low inflation rate", there will be no cost of living raises in Soc. Sec. payments for the next two years. The $250 is appreciated, but is a drop in the bucket compared to what I'd get with the traditional yearly raises.

This month, they started deducting Medicare from my check, and I'd been hoping to offset that deduction with the annual raise.

Usually, the annual raise is mostly offset by the annual increase in Medicare.

Went to the UAW for helping BO get elected.

I got the VA letter also. It is supposed to be tax free. The way I look at it Dear Leader, Chairman Maobama gave me back about .001% of the taxes I paid this year.

Of course it is the thought that counts so I will proudly vote for "The One" next go around.

Did sombody say working?
Well I guess you wont be thanking me then.
I been laid off since 2/09

And to all my unemployed union brothers that didn't understand my voteing for McCain --
How's that change working out for ya?

I got $250 EIC added on to my meager tax refund. I did the research and found out I got the money cause I was poor, didn't make much money last year. Well, I chose not to work for about 3 years and didn't receive a penny of gov't money. I decided to go back to work late last year and made about 3K. So the gov't decided I was poor and needed the money.

I didn't like this, but took it anyway. Gave it all away to various military related charities. Made me feel better...
