Yippee Skippy, I got/get 3 of them. VA Disability, SAA Disability and being poor because my Federal LEO disability retirement is below the poverty level. I'm cuttin a fat hog on this deal.
Sort like I told the kid in college though. I'll give you every darned dime of it if you can figure out a way to make me pain free.
I've hurt every day, all day since the age of 21. I turn 60 in August. That 80% VA check sounds like a lot till you actually earn the darned thing. THe fused elbow. wrist and missing finger and the fused back I can deal with. The damned pain will make you suicidal!!!Heck, I figure I earned every cent of it on Tuesday alone when I spent the entire day at the VA in Boise fighting with them about my morphine. IT only took 9 hours to ALMOST get it straightened out. I just love being treated like a child and or a crook by a bunch of goverment employees who if they treated a supervisor like they did me would be diciplined and whom I more than likely out ranked when I was a federal LEO. The place would be out of business if it wasn't the government.
Spent an hour with the hospital Director and the Customer/Patient advocate who mostly said "we're sorry you had to go through that" about every 5 minutes. They also had zero response or ideas how to "fix" the problem.
Apparently it's all my fault because I chose to live in a rural area. To quote my doctor "You chose to live there you have to expect some delivery problems". Probably, but not 4 out of the last 6 months.
You ain't had any real fun till you go through 3 or 4 days of morphine withdrawl because your meds are lost in the system and they can't be re-issued till they are found!!!!
So, I'd be more than willing to send you the three $250 checks and even the monthly VA check if you can just figure out how I end up alive and pain free or with pain levels I can deal with whithout having to fight the freaking VA about 3 months out of 5. Heck even the SSA might be negotiable. Sorry but I actually need the retirement to eat so it's off the table.
