The Car/Truck Gun

I bought a S&W99 with functioning night sights a couple of years ago from CDNN for $299. Pistol came in and was LNIB. I was surprised at the condition. I'm not confident it would meet your criteria for accuracy at 50 yards but handles anything I feed it flawlessly. Fits in the console of my p/u and is always handy.

One of my earliest truck guns that I had was a 20 gauge JC Higgins single barrel shotguns that had a youth buttstock and had the barrel trimmed down to 18 1/2 inches. With mild buckshot it could pattern the area of an entire doorway from about 7 yards. Only one shot, but that first shot would have been a doozy. Now I stick to wheelguns like my M & P .38. I am looking to get another older single barrel though or maybe a second hand pump that I could care less about.

When I travel, it's my Series 70 with a Jim Clark trigger job, forestrap stippling and night sights in the console. At night it comes in the motel with me and lives in one of those trick holsters with an arm that slips between the mattress and box spring. Very reassuring.
