Spangdahlem AFB 1983-1987. F-4E's and G's. Man that video got my blood pumping! They stopped the rides for departing troops just before I left and I was heartbroken! Went from there to C-5's at Dover.

I still say there's nothing prettier than an F-4 taking a night time cat shot . Yeah they are long in the tooth , but bad knows no age .
Looking at the helmet, 338th Squadron, it's Greek. Wiki, says it's the last greek squadron flying the F4.

Largest collection of aerodynamic Band-Aids on one airframe riding two pillars of black smoke. It worked in spite of all that.

I was assigned to a base that had some of the last USAF operational ones in 1991. They were known then as Texas Lawn Darts. I was only there three years and two of them augered in.
They are fun to watch take off, though.
