Why We CHANGED the Forum Software

WOW! I took some time out to be with my grand kids...then our internet was down for a few days. I finally get to spend some time here and I ran into THIS.

First of all I want to offer my SINCERE thanks for all the time and energy spent getting us updated. But for all my gratitude this is going to set me back a bunch. I know I will eventually get it figured out but it is going to take some time. We are all about to get a reminder of just how tenuous my grasp of computers is.

I ask for everyone's patience as I struggle to get caught up.

Really and truly, I'm trying to overcome my Ludditeness. But my membership is going to expire soon and I want to renew before it expires, but I can't find where to do it. Can somebody help me? Thank you.

You can (see the above post by wlw-19958).
Click "reply" on the first post you want to address and enter your comment.

Before you click "Post Reply" (below the message window), scroll up and click "reply" on another post you wish to quote. Lather, rinse, repeat... ;)
That's sort of a busy way to do it, when you used to be able to click each post as you read it and then have them all appear in your reply box; then you could address them all at one time before posting your reply. I'll give it a shot, though.

Like any new software update it just takes a little learning. I do have a question. I noticed my bronze level badge is missing. Is this something I am missing in presences or profile set up?

The changeover was extremely well executed. Compliments to all involved.

While I'm here, can anyone tell me what "Enable Moderation" means when viewing my own posts?

Lot's of other sites use Xenforo so getting comfortable with the new format was quick.

I am a bit surprised (pleasantly so) that you migrated to Xenforo rather than upgrade to vB6.

Wife says I'm technically challenged. I guess I am, but I seem to be figuring this change with no problems. I like the fact I get daily emails on my phone, as living in the mountains I get poor internet and a hassel to get online. If I can figure how to post pictures life will be good.

The old website styling had "character"; it looked different than anything else.

The new style is fresher, and working fine for me. Makes the place brighter! 🌞
