Got rid of my last Glock today. Since acquiring my M&P's, I've been selling off the Glocks, the last one bit the dust today.

Kinda sad really, I have shot Glocks for 20 years. I don't think I've ever had a firearm I liked better than the Glocks, 'till I discovered the M&P line.

Now if I could just find a 45c with no mag safety, and no thumb safety, I think my M&P lineup would be complete.

IMO, if a handgun doesn't work for you there's no point in keeping it.

Glocks are fine handguns. Simple design, user maintenance friendly, reliable. Just like you, I liked mine until I got a M&P in my hands. I planned to keep my Glocks. Every time I went to the range, the Glocks got left behind. There's no point in having a gun I don't want to shoot. I sold them off. I thought I'd feel bad about it, but I didn't.

The one thing about the M&P pistol is that it took the fun out of browsing the handgun case at the LGS. Nothing feels as "right" to me as the M&P so there's nothing else to buy.

JaPes,

Ain't that the truth. I go to the LGS, look at 1911's, revolvers, about everything they have, and always ask them if they have any new version of the M&P in stock. Kinda takes the excitement out of the visit. Oh well, at least I found the handgun line I will be shooting for a long time.

I'm gonna have to save up for this M&P series. I am a Glock man myself so I have to see what the commotion is all about.

I feel the same way.

I used to really like Glocks until I got my M&PC. Now they just don't do it for me.

I picked up a gen 4 Glock 21 to try out the new recoil spring, in a .45.

I put 50 rounds through it, and the recoil was improved, but it is being sold also.

I can't even get excited about my revolvers anymore!

A couple of my buddies shot my M&P at the range this week, and decided they needed one too.

I got rid of a revolver today also. Lost money on it, but have been trying to sell it for a while, and decided to learn a lesson.

Stay away from old revolvers unless you are commited to researching them enough to know their real value.

Yup. My center fire pistols went down to three. I purged out the ones that just didn't feel good.

SR1911 - As an American firearms enthusiast, I feel a moral obligation to own at least one example of the 1911.

Taurus M66 6" Blued - As a firearms enthusiast, I need just one revolver. .357 Mag does it for me.

M&P 9mm - Modern semi-auto, striker fired, polymer frame pistol.

(.22lr pistols are different. I have a bunch of them. .22lr is just too much fun to have just one.)

Glock has been riding the same design since the 80's. The ergonomics are lacking. The concession of the Gen4 backstrap system was a weak, and late answer to the interchangeable backstrap trend.

The ergonomics on the M&P pistol is what makes it stand out. You'll either like it or you wont. I'd rent one first to test it out.

Sacrilege! LOL.

+1

Used revolvers present a whole different challenge. I'm not comfortable buying a used revolver because I don't know how to evaluate one. Cylinder lock up, gap, etc...

Still have my G20, but the day they release a 10mm M&P that will get traded too.

I've been curious about 10mm. I used to own a G21. I got rid of it because the grip felt like I was holding a 2X4. I didn't ever get a G20 because of my experience with the G21.

If S&W put out a 10mm M&P, it would be hard to resist.

Never liked Glocks. Too fat and don't point right for me. I am a 1911 fan. Just purchased an M&P Shield and really like it. May purchase more M&Ps down the road. Really want S&W to come out with an M&P Shield in .45.

As a former Glock devotee and current M&P convert I am also considering selling my Glocks. They are great guns, but I just don't shoot them or carry them. It's always the M&P instead. So I'd like to just sell them and....buy more M&Ps! ;)

I'm down to one Glock I keep just in case. It's also my only auto. I have wuite few M&Ps but they're all revolvers.

The thumb safety is easily removed/deleted with factory parts available thru S&W customer service or Speed Shooter Specialties. All three of my M&Ps were purchased as thumb safety guns as that was all I could find. None of them are thumb safety guns now.

Wouldn't that void the factory warranty unless S&W actually did the work?

I personally think they will. Not anytime soon. But with the addition of the PRO sized M&P's, a 10mm makes sense with that barrel length.

Also...S&W has a long history of making 10mm weapons. It's familiar ground and I bet they don't fear it.

IMO anyway.

Greyson
