In the end though, I suspect that the mortal shot that ended Qaddafi's life was administered by someone loyal to him . . . so he wouldn't have to suffer through the humiliation and eventual execution by the Libyan people.

We'll probably never know fer shure, and it really doesn't matter. Now we only have to worry about the next blood-thirsty strongman who will surely rise up to assume power.

Me too. Of course we don't have the overwhelming ego that these lowlifes (Hitler, Milosevic, Hussein, Qaddafi, al-Assad, etc) possess. It's all about their ego. They don't think they can ever be defeated or unseated. It's the same type of thinking prevalent in Washington DC.

That may be, but there are a lot of people who have been active in the recent "democratic" revolutions in the Middle East who venerate the USA and many western values. Whether they survive remains to be seen.
