With apologies to Steve Martin. Just got a text saying there is a toll charge tied to my license plate of approx. $10. Several things wrong with that. There are only 2 places in the state that charge tolls and both of them are bridges I have never been on, as a passenger, driver or even pedestrian. I haven't even driven past them in almost 2 decades. Also, I haven't left the state in 5 years, and never went on a toll road then. I have never driven on a toll road in my life. My license plate is on my car which I bought in December. The plate is new, assigned after the sale by the DMV. I received it in late February. Since then, I have been no more than 8 miles from my house and my car has been with me the whole time. Plus, it's a good car. It wouldn't sneak out and travel on toll roads by itself late at night. That's not how it was raised.
There was a link to "take care of" it, but I just reported as spam and blocked the number. I love it when they're this easy to spot.
