The quality of the members here

In just a few days it will be 19 years that I've been a member here, and the Forum is my favorite social media site, hands down.

The atmosphere is civil and polite (for the most part) and the wealth of knowledge is truly impressive. The Rules keep everybody in line, and the immaturity, foul language, and trash talk that plagues other gun forums are mercifully absent (again, for the most part). One of the best aspects here is the Ignore feature, which lets us filter out certain posters. (I wonder if my stalker realizes I don't even see what he posts? :) )

What impresses me most about the Forum is the level of trust and old-fashioned ethics here. Members who post items for sale describe them honestly, warts and all, and price them fairly for the most part. And...I have made several purchases recently from members who shipped what I bought from them even before they received my payment...amazing!

Thanks for the reminder, lhipster, of just how good we have it here... :)

You're welcome. And having done business with you, Sir, I can say without a doubt that you are one of those stand up guys I talked about.

I'm up here in Canada and there are a few of us on this site. I fell in love with the S&W revolvers after shooting one at the base gun club. I found myself now as an old fart (73) needing a "bush carry" pistol but with the looney left gun laws up here, I'm restricted to antique status pistols. I'd acquired a S&W DA in .44 Russian, reached out on this site for information, and was blown away by the wealth of knowledge, the kindness and generosity, and the cameraderie of this group.

Are you only allowed to use it on 50 year old bears?:D

Old gamer tag. My name is Phil. Spelled backwards it's Lihp. That didn't sound cool enough. So, Lihpster it was. I pronounce it like leapster. I use it mainly because it's usually available and EvilDemonLord666 is always taken.:D

Good to know, for some reason I always thought "Long Island Hipster" even though it didn't seem to fit. My name backward is sinned. Something I try not to do, but sadly don't always succeed.

Moi aussi, eh. I'd like to see the face of any Conservation Officer or RCMP if you were questioned while out in the bush :D

See now here I thought that Phil’s screen name meant he was a former hippie from Long Island…..
But I agree with what he and the others here have said. It’s a great forum and I have learned a lot here.

This is not the first forum I have served as moderator but it is by far the best and most well behaved. The people here are not only friendly and eager to help, they are generous and in most cases, respectful. Moderating on other forums was often like herding cats, and rabid ones at that. We have a great bunch of people here, and much of that is due to Lee's (handejector) no messing around rules that weed out a lot of the undesirable element and makes it a place good folks like to hang out at.

Agree

I've been a member of several different firearms and other sites and many were just a complete joke mostly due to way to lenient rules.

They let the trolls run the show and it quickly becomes a place nobody wants to go to.

Lots of nice and knowledgeable folks here and I enjoy signing on way more than other sites.

Bravo Zulu to staff and all the great members.

I planned for that. I carry a copy of the firearms act as regards antique status in a ziploc plastic bag. Here in Ontario, the previous Liberals raped the MNR budget to put the money into another one of their useless "woke" projects. As a consequence, I haven't seen a CO show up uncalled for ages.

I'm sure, like me, a lot of you frequent other forums too. But this one is by far my favorite one. The quality of you members here is top notch. This is the one I always save for last when I do my daily gun forum surfing.

I reckon anyone packing an antique would carry the relevant part of the regs. as well as probably few officers would be familiar with that arcane corner of the FA. Utterly ridiculous of course, but we're stuck with it.
