Great multitudes of good people on this forum. I've only met one in person, but consider several to be good on line type friends.

Only had one really bad experience with a member on the sell of a gun that went south, but I'd like to think the majority around here are most CooL!

As a former Brand paid enforcer for two seperate forums ,my job was to dig to find out Trolls real identities.I will tell you that a lot of good folks participate on forums like this place.But There are a lot of physco's out there as well. Hiding behind a screen name without personally being held responsible for statements said is appealing to so many people.Which is why the you can never be too trusting to someone unless you really know them.

I have not dealt much with Ringo, but I have read many of his posts, and this thread thoroughly. Having been a teacher and an avid student of History, I strive to understand. I am not looking to make excuses for "The Kid". Before we can pass total judgement, we need to know his intent.

Having dealt with some who suffer from mental illness, I see more symptoms of mental illness than I do malicious intent. I believe that he thrived here because of the understanding people here ... their compassion and friendliness most likely helped him fill a void. Yes, in the process, some of us may have felt used ... that is understandable and to be expected.

Remember, we have also lost a respected member who made a world class error in judgement and action sometime last year. Let's hope TRK finds the help he desperately needs.

I don't quite know what to think of someone who accepts money under false pretenses, even though that money wasn't directly solicited by him.

"Scammed" or "conned" are strong terms, usually used to denote illegal activity of some sort. I wouldn't take it as far as calling this case "illegal", but there are ways of soliciting funds without directly asking for them. "I could do so-and-so if I only had x-number of dollars", or "I wouldn't get kicked out of my apartment if I had a bit more money to pay the rent this month". And so on and so forth.

I'm wondering if the Ringo Kid accepted funds from members of other forums.

I'm wondering if the Ringo Kid will be permanently banned from this forum as a result of what's come to light here in the past couple of days.

He's certainly had ample opportunity to offer up some explanations, but hasn't taken advantage of those opportunities.

I personally don't care, one way or another, if he ever posts here again.

I do sympathize with those forum members who actually sent the guy money, because I believe y'all have been had.

Okay. In the words of Paul Harvey, "Here's the rest of the story."

A respected member of this forum found out about what Carl was doing in regards to the various and sundry "Sabrina stories" and he also found out that Carl had been accepting money based on those falsehoods. He confronted Carl personally and told him that if he would never post on the Smith and Wesson forum again, he would not "out" him.

Carl agreed. That's why we haven't seen any of Ringo's posts in the last few days. However, Carl went behind this person's back and started sending PM's to various forum members saying that he was being persecuted by a couple of members. Oops. Big mistake, Carl. Now the secret is out.

In regards to him receiving funds from members of other forums, we haven't been able to ascertain that as yet. As he did with the folks on our forum, he's not going to go public and tell everybody he's getting money from forum members. Of course not. He doesn't want to kill the "golden goose." If more people think he's struggling financially, they are more apt to send cash his way.

Sadly, Sabrina isn't the only one of Carl's lady friends who has died. On another forum, we have discovered that "Suzie" has also recently died of cancer. We're not sure just how many times Suzie has passed away, though.

As has been stated, it's probably time this thread got closed. I think Lee saw wisdom in keeping it open in order to alert forum members of what was going on and to protect the good, caring, generous folks here who thought they saw a need and were more than willing to help.

Not to flog a dead-horse, and I haven't been around here long enough to 'know', nor would I if I had been because I don't pay close enough attention to enough threads, nor do I have time or interest in playing P.I. with various members backgrounds, past posts, forum memberships etc, etc,...

But the few compulsive liars I have encountered were part everything, part anything, professional everything, allllll over the map/globe/history-of-creation.

Helicopter pilot no Race Car Driver no Astronaut no Mob Underboss no Pro Surfer no ...

But for me, in my kitchen, they were a Cook. Or just a dishwasher.
