The shortage is slowly easing

As long as one wants to shoot, they will pay whatever the cost.

I dunno about you, but I still pay almost $4 a gallon for gas. It's either walk, or drive. Since i chose to drive, then I must pay almost $4 a gallon for gas.......The same will go for ammo.

Exactly....

Yesterday was a pretty good hunt. I'm in northern Minnesota and either had good luck or we are starting to finally get relief here. Gander mountain did not have any 40 s&w, not surprised. Buddy was at a lgs and found a box of American eagle 100 round pack for 50 bucks, a little expensive but I had him buy it anyways. Then I ran up to another lgs that had Remington UMC 50 round boxes, only let me purchase 1, for 20 bucks. All in all a good day, oh and Walmart only had 45 acp.

I have seen 22 ammo compared to gasoline in a couple different threads lately. I can park my 22's for a long time with no ill effects but can't say that about my vehicles. Gas is a necessity.

Not bad and getting better in SW Michigan. LGS have had misc. boxes, but Walmart has had 9mm, 40S&W and 45ACP everytime I've gone there in the last couple of weeks. 3 box limit still but they've had 100 round Remington value packs of 9mm for $21 and change, same price as before all this nonsense. I've been pretty lucky online with Midway and Cabela's also. When they have it in stock it's not gone in 60 seconds like a few weeks ago.
When I went to Cabela's to pick up my order yesterday they had a whole shelf of .223 and some high end Elley .22lr. And they had several AR-15's on the racks, they've been empty for months.
So overall I see it getting better.

They say something is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it.

In this case, .22LR can be worth $80 a brick. There are plenty of buyers out there that are willing to pay it. Heck i sat here yesterday and watched (50) 500rd bricks of .22LR sell for $119.99 (before shipping) and they sold out in 3 minutes. Who am i to complain that the seller made bank and the buyers got stuck.

Who are we to complain because of "their" stupidity. The only reason one can complain is if one didnt prepare over the years and now one is forced to buy at the inflated prices. The only person to blame for that is YOU.

The 9mm and .22LR drought continues in SE Michigan (Detroit area). Other calibers are starting to appear but we have a ways to go before its anything pre October 2012.

Stopped in LGS yesterday and they had plenty of 9mm and 380s. Bought both!

My buddy stopped by a gun shop this morning and saw 525 rounds of .22lr for...wait for it...$169.00. He said there was plenty there - I can see why. It gets to a point where it just won't sell. That being said, I'm sure people have bought it there whatever the price. Then the gun store just keeps raising their already gouged pricing. I'm going to call them in the morning and see what they want for other sizes of ammo.

Still not much available here in the land of long horns. When it does come in to the big box stores it goes right out the doors with the line people. Those of us who can't go stand in line are SOL.

A friend "gave" me a 225count .22lr on Sunday because he has over 3500 rounds and was just being nice. Feel like I owe him big time.

One problem now is that many online dealers are intentionally extending the shortage. They're listing inventory on GunBroker at inflated prices instead of selling direct through their online store.

Those are the shops when prices go back to normal don't give them anymore of your business. I hope the shops that are gouging do go out of business after this panic is over.
