It happened to me also
I walked in a local gun shop I frequent, talked to the owner. Joe has a drawer that he throws the expensive, rare or beater guns he doesn't want to put out. I ask what what was in the drawer today and he pulled out a no finish brown S&W 32-20 HE. $200 out the door, next trip and a what's in the drawer produced a M-36 3" with the finish all screwed up on the frame. $200 again, It's almost like Christmas every visit. I cleaned up the 36, no finish on the frame but no pitting. The 32-20 ended up having a M-14 rear sight put on and a patridge front sight. For $400 I finally have my 32-20 target I could never afford. Love those truck guns, keeps the safe queens from getting worn out.
