The Third & Final Victory

Last week I told my tale of woe how I had bid on, and won three Victories on auction. Sadly, my wife didn't agree with my good fortune. I already have a deal in place to sell the 2nd Victory, so that helped with some of the necessary fund raising. I am not sure if I can keep both of the remaining two. This could turn into my version of Sophie's choice without the whole life and death thing. Time will tell if I have to sell one of these or put a possibly unfired 66 2 1/2 inch up for sale. Anyway, this is a Navy marked Victory. It appears to be all matching including the grips.

I can sympathize with having to deal away recently acquired firearms to keep your finances square with the "house". BDDT.

I hope you get to keep at least one of the victory revolvers.

Except for the rust on the lanyard ring, that looks like a very clean, desirable gun. Lanyard rings can be replaced, or maybe you can find some way to clean that one up.

I was often issued one of these until the USAF had enough Combat Masterpieces, and they usually shoot very well.
Those we had were transferred from the Navy. Most remained in excellent condition, and may have been stored since WW II.

Thanks, I looked at it, but for a gun in that condition he wants way way too much for it. I've got one in far better condition that I didn't pay half that for.

I thought that it was priced a little high considering it wasn't the cleanest example. Most Victories I have seen for sale in the NYC Metro area, that were in nice shape were priced in the $400-$500 range. The one Navy marked one I saw for sale, not too far from me in Ct. had a price of $900 but that included a USGI holster. I thought that was way high, even with the holster.
