Please do not part with this gun. You will regret it in the future.. I speak from experience. It is an heirloom (Really) and if you let it go, someday, you will be kicking yourself. If you need money. contact me and we can work a deal where I buy it and you can have an option to buy it back later.

Model 10

10-8 Nickel pinned heavy 4" barrel.

I picked up a "police trade" model 10, to use as a "shooter". I already had a Model 19-3, blued, but wanted a range beater-type revolver in .38 special.

Is the nickel finish that appears to be satin-nickel, the same as those that have been polished? Mine looks like matte finish, in good shape, but those shiney nickel are curious to me as I don't know if they are just ones that have been polished, or, a different finish altogether.

Here's another "Pre" Model 10, a Military and Police .38 shipped April 1949. Extremely smooth action, and still locks up like new. Probably carried much and shot little, typical investigators undercover gun:

This is a classic thread. The M&P, later the Model 10 was Smith and Wessons "Bread and butter gun" for about a hundred years!!

Keep them coming...

Best Regards, Les

This 5-inch no-dash Model 10 came into my possession almost a year ago. There are some issues with the finish, the stocks aren't correct, and I probably paid too much for it (or perhaps I just bought it too soon), but it has quickly become one of my favorite handguns. This one carries serial number C 477768, and letters as having shipped to the Stratton-Warren Hardware Co. (a wholesale hardware dealer) in Jackson, MS, on December 29, 1959.

Just loved the look of the older Model-10's so much I just had to find a nice one to own.Plus I watched that video from Hickok-45 and that helped a little to.Here's mine and it shoots great especially in single action target shooting.Very accurate!
