The Ultimate Model 10 Thread!

I LOVE Model 10 threads!!! My model 10-8:

Here's a couple of uglies, never before featured on the Forum. Whenever a Model 10 or M&P feature thread appears, I put the better ones out and never choose to show these two. I think you can see why.

Nonetheless, they are both in perfect shooting order with sparkling bores and stand ready to serve.

bmcgilvray,

If you look close at my 4 inch M10 it too is very blue-worn. But it shoots to POA and it carries well. Much better than a pristine one that would not shoot to POA and I'd be afraid to carry.

My new (1/29/10) model 10-6 (1970) $165. OTD $10. eBay grips- needs further cleaning just need the time to do it.

Thank you all for showing. All of those M&P/M10s are fantastic; the pretty ones, the rough ones..so many ages, sizes, grips, they all just scream Smith&Wesson! I've been considering owning one (or several now). The quest begins!

More great guns! Prices seem to be "lower" for a lot of the M&P/M10 variations compared to L & N frames! As much as I like my L and N frame wheelies, I own more K frames. They just seem to handle better for me. I was born in 1949, so a post-war M&P is where I'll start!

Very nice guns. I don't have a camera right now or I would post some pics. I have 3 10-6's. These are by far my favorite guns to shoot and carry.

Here is my 10-6 from 1971, along with my own handstitched, deep boned, leather rig in which it is carried. (Be kind, this was only my second holster...)

My Dad bought this Model 10 2 inch in 1964. It was his every day carry gun as an FBI agent until 1984, when he retired. He gave it to me about 5 years ago, along with the original receipt. The battle damage on the cylinder, barrel and stock was the result of a fight over this revolver with a bank robber in Chattanooga.
My son will get this when I am gone.
