Stainless sights are tough at sunset.

Well this looks like a great place to post a couple of pictures of my latest purchase. My no dash M-19 4" four screw that I picked up last week. This is my best purchase so far.

I will have to beat myself later for not contributing to this thread earlier than this...

Call me late to the party, too. Here is my only 66, a 3.2" -5 model. I wish I had others to keep it company.

Here is my 19-3 also have 19-5. Grips on 19-3 are from a gun show cheap. This is a great shooter has had some use boght it at alocal shop and belonged to LEO. Pic's not that good !

I believe those are Sile grips.

Bought in May for $249! 19-2, serial number K778587. Nicest gun I've ever seen.

Make that STOLE in May!!! :D

Just picked this up 10 minutes ago... 19-6, faintest of faint turn rings is all the wear it shows.

Is there a subtle difference in the barrel shroud/underlug on that model or is the camera playing tricks with my eyeballs???

But just think how long you avoided my relentless questions about them.;) Now, you may want to beat yourself for posting four of them.:D

Thankfully, mine are all common models. Now if only I could add a nice common four inch or shorter 66 to the family.

Any idea why some have the serial number stamped into the frame behind the yoke and some only have it stamped on the bottom of the grip frame??? I didn't remove the stock from my shorty 19 for the serial but I can if it is really needed for the project after all this time.

Nothing truly historical but I have always had a soft spot for 19's and 66's

I think because the round butt versions came with magnas (that didn’t cover the serial number) and the square butt versions came with targets (that would cover the serial number).

That’s up to you. I appreciate any info you are willing to share.
I’m on a mission to document every Combat Magnum ever made and I think it’s going to take me awhile.:D

In the first post you can see that the difference between a 19-2 and -3 is what ‘started’ this for me. What you’re mentioning keeps me going.

Here’s a RB 19-2. No serial number in the yoke cut but no need to remove the stocks, the magnas don’t cover the butt.

Here’s my shooter RB 19-4. I’ll have to look up the serial number because it’s not in the yoke cut and the target stocks cover up the butt.

Then there’s this ‘transitional’ 19-4 that had RB Combats on it when I got it. But, there’s no need to take of the stocks to see the serial number, it’s stamped in the yoke cut. Why?

You gotta love it!!
