possible sacrilege......

Haven't seen any of these on here yet.......
I had this built by Jerry Purbaugh back in '79/'80. I carried it for several years as my duty weapon until transition to semi-auto pistols..........I still have the Hoyt breakfront holster I carried it in. I think it is the best of both worlds (Model 19 +Colt Python). Still the most reliable and accurate handgun I own. After uncountable thousands of rounds.

Some will disagree...............

That's a fine example of a great gun! A 4 inch K frame with target stocks looks perfectly balanced IMO

Here is one with nice stocks, which are probably original. It has a box, both S/N K 411904.

Sweet gun and stocks,
The wide TT/TH combo without the RR insert has me wondering if the box is marked to indicate it shipped that way ?

Also does the rear site have a white outline ?

The box is blue with minimal information on the side. Blue finish, Model 19, 4 inch, .357 Magnum. Nothing else. I don't have a letter, so it may not be original, but it looks it, for what ever that's worth. The sights are plain, no outline. Just beautiful blue and great stocks. The barrel isn't perfectly fitted, as the indexing is off just a small tick, but it shoots spot on for me.

My new to me S&W Model 66-1

And it's two other brothers, a Model 60-14 and a five screw Model 28 HP

Question about early 4 inch Model 66 No Dash's. While I understand that the target stocks are standard issue, would the various police departments that were issuing this revolver likely request them in Magna stocks? And if so, would the inside of the grips be marked with the serial #? The reason I ask is, I have just recently bought such a revolver (hasn't arrived yet) wearing Magna's that may be original to it. I know I can put in a request to S&W for info, but really don't want to lay out $50 unless it looks promising. Thanks.

Don
