Their is an app for that

Little lady got me a Samsung 3 for Black Friday for .99 cents. I've had it on for two or three times. Wife called me twice I didn't know how to answer before voice mail so I had to call her back, I knew how to do that. It came with a lot of their apps.

Wife loaded one of those scanner where you point it at this box on a item in the store and it tells you about the item and who sells it for what. And a GPS app. and a Wally World app to check to see if ammo was in stock.

She finally show me how to answer. You gotta swipe this and that I think, I forgot. And it makes a noise sometimes, she informed me that was some kind of text thingy. Told her I don't do text, if ya want me talk to me, and I go with her now so she doesn't have to call. It has a camera but no where near the quality of a real one so I don't use it. Looks pretty there in it's case, but I'd be happy with a oak crank phone. Life is simple for me, I'm retired. No one but the little lady ever calls me and all my friends are dead already. I like the simple life besides one of those guy's with the tin foil hat say's you can be tracked with them, I don't want the little lady knowing I've been at the LGS.

I gotta try that Siri thing. So far I have not, I guess because it seems a bother to learn how to use it, and because I am not sure what I would use it for...

For identifying unknown music, there is an app called Shazaam that works with iPhones.

I like the reading apps -- Kindle, iBooks, Nook -- but use them more on my iPad, by far, because the screen is bigger. Still, it is handy in the iPhone if you're stuck shopping with the wife, etc., and can find a place to sit down... If you are a heavy reader, there is a new service out there, Oyster, which has one free month then $10 per month for all sorts of books, including recent best sellers, as much as you want. Another service of interest, not an app, but works with Kindle or Nook apps, is BookBub. Free or discounted, although usually not best seller types. And if you like to listen to books while commuting, there are several apps for audio books, some free.

There are a number of camera apps, too, with various filters, frames, and such. The iPhone camera is really pretty good for snapshots, and occasionally the pictures can be stunning.

My bank has an app that among other things lets me deposit checks into my account by using the app to take a pic of both sides of the check.

Often I find apps by Googling "best apps for ...." whatever I am interested in.

If you download Twitter you can follow all those news apps, people like masaad ayoob, gun stuff, anything really and get live updates. Rather than multiple news apps.. works good for me.

SCSW

What we could use is an app that has the 4th. edition of the SCSW. With regular updates of course! :D

How many of you would buy that?
I have the 3rd ed on my android bought through kindle, I read a lot of books on my phone, also have mil-dot calculator,

Just talk to Siri in a normal voice. You can pretty much say things how you like. You dont have to learn a bunch of commands. She picks out the key words and applies it. For example I can say- Remind me to take the dog to the vet on May 18th at 10am, or I can say don't let me forget my wedding aniversary on April 1st a noon. Siri figures it out.

Just start playing with it and you'll soon see how easy and limitless it is. When is the Superbowl Bowl. Text my wife and tell her i wont be home for dinner. What is the square root of 36 plus 18 multiplied by 4 minus 9.Who was president in 1918. How many toes does a human have. I need gasoline. I'm hungry for pizza. Any good movies. How many grains in a pound. Where can I get a haircut. Text Tom, John, and Tim and tell them i will be at the club around noon. Play Aerosmith (if you got the music). Search the web for fireplaces in Chattanooga. Read my text messages. Email Paul... call George... Take me to the grocery store. Take me home. What will the weather be like tomorrow. It isn't going to rain soon I hope. What's it like in Miami. Make a note, grocery list bread apple beer. How is the stock market doing. What is the last Friday in Feburary. Is a Glock really perfect :D.... on and on and on... Just tell or ask Siri whatever ya want. Don't holler or talk slow or try to over enunciate... just talk as you usually do.

In disgust, I told Siri to just "shut up!". She was quite for a few seconds and then said "That's not nice". After that I had to reboot before Siri worked again. I'm still not sure if that's a planned response or not.

I have the Walmart app on my iPad but it has never shown any ammo in stock at local stores.

Does anyone have experience with Skunk Works "Gun Log" app? Received an iTunes gift card so I am thinking about buying this app.

How about "Ammo Finder" app.

Don't have an iPhone - but I had read the Surefire app was a nice shot timer - but the latest update borked it. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

I have a Galaxy S4 and the IPSC Shot Timer app seems nice so far from the very limited time I've messed with it.

I'd even buy an I phone to have the SCSW on it. I can talk on my present phone, but that's about all.
