I gotta try that Siri thing. So far I have not, I guess because it seems a bother to learn how to use it, and because I am not sure what I would use it for...
For identifying unknown music, there is an app called Shazaam that works with iPhones.
I like the reading apps -- Kindle, iBooks, Nook -- but use them more on my iPad, by far, because the screen is bigger. Still, it is handy in the iPhone if you're stuck shopping with the wife, etc., and can find a place to sit down... If you are a heavy reader, there is a new service out there, Oyster, which has one free month then $10 per month for all sorts of books, including recent best sellers, as much as you want. Another service of interest, not an app, but works with Kindle or Nook apps, is BookBub. Free or discounted, although usually not best seller types. And if you like to listen to books while commuting, there are several apps for audio books, some free.
There are a number of camera apps, too, with various filters, frames, and such. The iPhone camera is really pretty good for snapshots, and occasionally the pictures can be stunning.
My bank has an app that among other things lets me deposit checks into my account by using the app to take a pic of both sides of the check.
Often I find apps by Googling "best apps for ...." whatever I am interested in.
