There is a fast food place I hate, except for;

Come on down to S/W Missouri. I left Chicago 3.6 years ago. Not a single regret doing so.
I left Chiraq in '86. I'd sooner live in North Korea than there again.

I went to college in Fulton, MO in the '70s. I really like Ohio, but I'd move to Columbia in a minute if there was a full time, non-contract job there.

I'm one of those uncouth, better-stay-upwind-from-me White Castle people. Every month or two the jones hits and I just ruin myself.

Fortunately I love alone except for a little dog who d oesn't mind.

Yep sliders. Love them. Too bad the brown sauce has gone away.

I work nights as a paramedic. It you dont eat fast food you dont eat. I go to mcdonalds for the steak and cheese bagel and sweet tea. That stuff is crack and is the best sweet tea Ive had since I lived in GA. I prefer the chicken joints Churches, Popeyes, and KFC I feel like Im at least somewhat eating real food. Honestly though Speedway gas stations can substitute an OK meal if needed. Their subs arent horrible. I love their roller egg rolls. Choose your chips and drink and go.

Back for a limited time, Mc Rib. Ok I'm a Mc Rib junkie, serious junkie. I bought and ate 2, I was stuffed.

I get the Banquet brand "pressed meat" rib dinners. Cook up a couple, get some white bread & the BBQ sauce of your choice... "voila!" McRib, only better. ;)

Saw frozen White Castle sliders in the store the other day. :D

Unfortunately, all of the White Castles north of Columbus closed a few years ago. When I was working for a crooked contracting company (illegal unpaid overtime) there was many a night when the only place open that I could afford to eat dinner, at 3:00am, was White Castle.

I like most fast service food, and have the physique to prove it; however, I have standards, I will not eat at Denny's.

Worked patrol either 3 to 11 or 11 to 7 most of my uniformed career. On the third shift there were only two places to eat, either IHOP or Denny's. Once a year I will eat breakfast in a Houston IHOP, can't recall the last time I was in a Denny's. But having very few standards, and needing to be out in the middle of the night there will be a Jack in the Crack stop. :D hardcase60

Why I was I junior high school, my buddy and I would save some change from our school lunch money and stop at the golden arches to share an order of frys on the way home. But it was called “Peak’s” then; back in the mid-1950s.

The fast food I miss now days is the Wienerschnitzel. That nice chewy hotdog smothered in chile and onions.

I can't stand eating at McDonald's; the food is tasteless and overpriced for what you get. But, since I have to commute from the New Iberia, La area to the Midland, Tx area every 2 weeks, I do have to hit somewhere on the trip to get a meal. And what I've been doing is hitting a Whataburger right behind the Buc-ee's gas station on the east side of Dallas off I-20. It's almost halfway in the trip and I tank up at the Buc-ee's there and the Whataburger is about 2 blocks away. I like the burgers they serve and they aren't prepared hours ahead of time. The Whataburger joints are also open 24/7, so you can get something hot and fairly tasty while on the road at any time.

Good burgers are at Culvers, the butterburger.

Freddies burgers are the best, growing chain. Try them. Started by Kansas WW2 vet when he was past 70 years old.

If anyone has tried a Freddies burger please give us your opinion .

Thanks.

And that mystery meat thing on the McRib. Thre is only one part of a pig that is not used for anything. So maybe it is miracle BBQ sauce. What ever it tastes good.

I'm in the process of buying cows, working with a builder, county and sub builders on new house, sitting down in a BBQ joint and spending 2 to 3 times as much is a time commodity I don't have many days.

But when we do BBQ in a good place there is no comparison.

Any of you STL area folks try Eythels in O'Fallon?

I actually like the Sausage, Egg, & Cheese McGriddles at McDs for breakfast. The "bread" is two pancakes with maple syrup cooked in them.

At the Chick Fil As that have it....the breakfast platter...eggs,sausage or bacon, biscuit & gravy, is really good.

I wish the Wendy's in my area still had their sausage biscuits, varied omelets and chicken-fried steak. Those were my staples when having a paper route that meant I had to get up and out by 3am, and when I finished other work of the day.

I was introduced to steak n shake in 2000 at the national flat track races in Springfield Ill. Wish we had them in Texas.

We do, I ate at one in Austin about 5-6 years ago. I thought the food very good, but for what you get for the price? nope. It was a one time stop for a friend of mine and I. I then didnt eat large meals and always had something left over from other similar eateries--I left this one still hungry.

Had a burger at 5 Guys; wasn't impressed. There's a place in town called Rasco's Burger Inn, but popularly known as 'The Dirty Old Man's'. I think he's retired but his sons run it. The guy making burgers has sores all along the under side of his arms from spattering fat, I guess. They make a superb burger, and their caldillo is to die for. Once I think I got some deer venison caldillo, but they took it away from me before I finished it and wouldn't say why.

They didnt want you to find out what was really in that burger-let alone oil dripping from open sores on the cooks arms.:eek:

Back in the "old days" I frequented Dirtys in Austin. Home of Martins Cum back Burger. Dans also, and Huts. Austin had good hamburgers.
I try to avoid Austin nowadays since it's occupied territory, and rather hostile.( I lose my appetite every time I have to go there.)

Houston had two Dirty's, but those places were known for their platter-sized chicken fried steaks. Kinda like The Little Red Barn in San Antonio.
