Hello all,
I haven't been actively pursuing S&W revolvers lately. I do visit the forum almost everyday though.
My 10 year old and I took a little ride to a LGS that we haven't been at in a while. I look in the case and saw this very nice five screw 6.5" pre model 27. I picked it up and it is in fantastic original condition. The clerk said it came with the original box. I asked to see it and found the original knurled SAT in the box. At that point I knew I had to buy it.
The box and grips are numbered to the gun. The serial number is s1574xx. I was a little surprised to see the aluminum knurled SAT. I thought it would've been knurled steel. The gold box has red metal corners. This is the first time I've seen these on a gold box.
It just goes to show that nice collectable S&Ws are out there. The price was also very nice on this one.
Now I'm stoked again...thinking about the next one!
Here's a few pics.
