Third Generations vs. M&P Line?

Weren't the bats flying north out of MA to NH just a few years ago?

Without crossing the line into politics, I'll just say that is the myth that people up there use to explain the creeping progressivism that is home grown.

Back to 3rd Gens. I wonder if the 3913 a LGS close to me has is a LS or NL?

The number don't lie. :) There are a lot of Massachusetts refugees of all political persuasions fleeing north to the land of "Live Free or Die." For younger growing families, it can make a lot of sense. Not so much for crusty old folks like me and the wife. :o We don't benefit as much from the no income tax / no sales tax thing... but we still get nailed to the cross by NH's extreme high property taxes. :( Taking everything into account, a move north would make little financial sense for us.

Complex issue... not so easy to generalize about it. :o No question that NH is now a much more liberal state than it was while I was growing up. Election results clearly prove it. But the "why" is a much more complex question. :o

We both know the best way for you to find out! :D And be sure to bring lots of green cash with you! :p

The same goes for us. Add to that my ever growing aversion to snow and the fact that my kids and grandkids live in deep in the south and that's where we'll likely end up.

My data set is limited to people I worked with, many of whom tend to be conservative. Most of them are also gun owners as well. In fact the only liberals I know that moved up to NH are my wife's cousin and his wife. Nice folks and they moved up there in the early 1980s.

Of course other people know other groups and their data set is different.

I have an envelope with some cash from selling my 3904 and a Remington 870. I've spent some of it on ammo, but there's a lot left. If it turns out to be a variant I want, I'll be selling one of my 3913s. Which is pre MIM, I think.

And you know my preference is to keep 3rd Gens in the Commonwealth. ;)

If you want a full size 3rd Gen, get a 5906 or 5946 and call it a day! If you want a compact, get the 3913 or the 3953.

As they apparently no longer service these models, get a few spare mags, and some frequently needed spare parts, springs, etc.

Ya'll sound funny way up thar. :D Granted the county I grew up in has two ways to say the name. Robison for the people from the county and Robe-son for those outside of the county. And it's spelled Robeson. :D

GaryS, Be sure to post photos.

I did get to the LGS today, but it was just a plain old 3913. A very clean one, but I don't have the budget to add another plain jane 3913 to the collection. I forgot to ask what might come with it.

If anyone in eastern MA is interested, PM me for the name of the shop.

And yes, I was tempted, but I resisted. :)

You should have bought it. :D

And too bad for me... I am dirt broke. :o

I couldn't justify it, even with my best effort.

I will say that I didn't ask them to take it out of the case and only saw the right side of the gun. I might take another look, after all the left side might say "9 Tactical". In which case I'd just have to buy it. :D

No excuses. You should have bought it. You have the money in hand and God must want you to buy it or he wouldn't have alerted you to its existence. :D

A lot of theories have been put forward attempting to explain how and why Massachusetts became such a Looney Tunes crazy moonbat state. :o The truth is that our Massachusetts leftist moonbatism is heavily focused in three places: 1) inner cities, 2) certain extremely wealthy suburbs and, 3) academic enclaves. Outside of those areas, Massachusetts is actually not an overly nutty place. Too bad for us that the sane people are somewhat outnumbered by the folks in those three categories, which tends to leave us reasonably sane folks pretty much disenfranchised come voting time. :o

Please don't consider us all crazy. :( On the other hand, it's okay to feel sorry for us. :o Most of us would move out of here tomorrow if employment, real estate, family & friends weren't considerations. :(

Believe me, I feel your pain!! We're not quite that bad...yet. But we're well on our way.

I think that many would argue that you folks in NY are already there! :D

I appreciate the thought, but FL is not on the literal or figurative road map for relocation. I do like the panhandle area, but if I were going to settle in that area, I'd point west a few miles and go to Baldwin County, AL.

There are fewer and fewer reasons to stay up here every year, but we can't quite go yet.

Both of us like the south, we just don't know exactly where yet. Both kids are down there, and the grandkids as well.

Downside of Alabama is the high crime rate around the big cities & their State Income Tax...
I've got two uncles near Birmingham...both carry 24/7, and generally need to.

A great location is Jay, FL, if you prefer country living and few crime issues...near to AL also...
although a few years back one fella was playing with what he thought was a decomissioned hand grenade
& blew half his hand off...

My pension is apparently exempt from state income tax in AL. That aside, the other big down side is that it's hard to get anywhere except Pensacola from Baldwin County. That's not our first choice, but it's not definitely out either.

Somewhere near, but not in Austin, TX is most likely as things stand now. Our daughter moved there last year and she doesn't plan to move if she can avoid it.

But I'm drifting way off topic, so I'll stop.
